Rooted in Family.
Inspired by the Sea.
I’m Lauren, the artist and founder behind Salt & Sons Shell Co. What began as slow days along the Texas coast with my husband and our four boys—walking the shoreline, exploring the water, and collecting oyster shells—became the inspiration for something I never expected.
I have always been drawn to the beauty found in things that are natural and imperfect. Oyster shells are no exception. Each one is different, shaped by the water and marked by where it has been. I began painting the shells we collected and transforming them into pieces for our home. Somewhere along the way, a simple creative outlet grew into Salt & Sons Shell Co.
Today, each piece is created by hand along the Texas coast with the hope that it feels collected rather than manufactured—timeless, meaningful, and entirely one of a kind. I love creating artwork that brings a subtle piece of the coast into a home while still feeling elevated enough to live there for years to come.
The Meaning Behind
Salt & Sons
The name Salt & Sons holds the heart of it all: our four sons, the saltwater that inspired this journey, and our faith and the call to be salt and light. What began with our family has grown into something I am incredibly grateful to share with yours.
Found Grace
Our faith is woven into Salt & Sons through our Found Grace Shells. Each week, one of our boys paints a shell, prays over it, and we leave it somewhere in our coastal community to be found—a small reminder of grace for whoever happens upon it.
That tradition also travels with every Salt & Sons order. A Found Grace Shell is tucked into each package for you to take with you and leave somewhere to be discovered. Each shell is accompanied by a verse inviting you to pass along a little encouragement and grace to someone you may never meet.
What began as a simple way to involve our boys in Salt & Sons has become one of the most meaningful parts of what we do—a small expression of our faith and our family’s call to be salt and light passed from our family to yours and then out into the world.
